How to Download and Play an Audiobook on Android

Follow these steps to download an audiobook onto your Android phone and play it with Smart Audiobook Player.

Step 1: Install Smart Audiobook Player
  1. Tap the link below to open the app in the Google Play Store:
  2. Download Smart Audiobook Player
  3. Tap Install and wait for it to finish before moving on.
Step 2: Download the Audiobook File
  1. Go back to the book list and tap the Download Audiobook button for the book you want.
  2. The file will download as a .zip file and will be saved automatically to your phone's Downloads folder.
  3. Wait for the download to finish before moving to the next step.
Step 3: Move the File to a Books Folder
  1. Open the Files app on your phone (sometimes called My Files).
  2. Open the Downloads folder and find the .zip file you just downloaded.
  3. Long press the file to select it, then tap Move.
  4. Stay in the Downloads folder and tap the folder icon with a + symbol to create a new folder.
  5. Name the new folder Books and tap the ✔️ to confirm.
  6. Select the Books folder as the destination and confirm the move.
Step 4: Set the Books Folder in the App
  1. Open Smart Audiobook Player.
  2. Tap the three lines (☰) at the top left to open the menu.
  3. Tap the back arrow at the top left of the menu.
  4. Tap the three dots (⋮) and go to Settings.
  5. Tap the folder icon with a + symbol, then tap OK.
  6. Open the Downloads folder, then open the Books folder.
  7. Tap Use This Folder to confirm.
Step 5: Play the Audiobook
  1. Tap the refresh arrow to scan for new books.
  2. Your downloaded audiobook should now appear in the list.
  3. Tap the title and press Play to start listening.
